Ferdinand's Ball & Old Friends

As Miss Teen Earth United States, I am continually researching and learning about organizations that promote environmental causes.

I have always had a deep love and devotion to animals. I believe that animals need to be treated with the same love & respect that we would give to human beings. That is why I found such a great interest in Ferdinand's Ball and the "Old Friends" charity. The event is named after Ferdinand, a former Kentucky Derby winner who was slaughtered in Japan in 2002. Now the event helps raise money which is donated to a charity called "Old Friends." The charity brings in "at risk" racehorses to give them a retirement they deserve. Since Old Friends is open to the public, it brings in about 20,000 visitors a year who come to view the legends. It allows people to become educated and inspired by the stories of victory and defeat of each horse.

Ferdinand's Ball is going to be held on April 29th. It is going to be a beautiful gala held in the Frazier Museum in Downtown Louisville. It will truly be a red carpet affair complete with a celebrity chef, celebrity guests, a top musician and gourmet cuisine. I strongly encourage all my readers to please find a way to help out. Whether it be to actually attend the event or donate, both are very much appreciated. Click the link below to direct you to their website. Here you can find information about purchasing tickets to the event. They also need monetary donations that will go towards putting on the event. If you would like to donate, you can find that information on the website as well. And the plus side? Everything is tax deductible and you are truly helping out a great cause! Please help save these beautiful and talented animals!
